Immobilizer Generation 3

VCRPIM030

The following procedures detail how to match immobilizer components to any VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda etc. model that uses Immobilizer Generation 3. The instructions vary depening on the exact model/equipment. Make sure to use the proper address/control module, depending on which control module is the immobilizer master in your specific vehicle. For details, check the individual vehicle pages. The immobilizer master can either be integrated into the Control Module for Access/Start Authorization (#05), the Instrument Cluster (#17) or the Immobilizer Control Module (#25).

Key Matching (New)

Prerequisites

  • Immobilizer PIN/SKC for Vehicle is known/valid
  • All keys are either new (unlocked) or were adapted to this vehicle (immobilizer identity) before
  • You can match up to 8 keys
  • While adapting each key, make sure to place the other keys away from the ignition lock (reader coil). The passenger seat is an adequate place.
  • Battery Voltage > 12.5 V

9 Insert NEXT Key
WAIT
Repeat Step 9 & 10 until all keys are matched. The Immobilizer Warning Light will light up for ~2 seconds, wait until it goes out, indicating that the key has been matched.
10 Ignition OFF
(Remove Key)
Repeat Step 9 & 10 until all keys are matched.

Finalization

The above steps after saving the adaptation, should not exceed 60 seconds withing matching 2 of the keys and having one key in the ignition should not exceed 30 seconds!

Key Matching (Used)

Keys are locked during their initial/first learning process and cannot be learned/matched to a different immobilizer system via factory procedures. Therefor, existing keys from a specific vehicle and immobilizer identity can be re-learned/matched to that same vehicle/identity at any time, while used keys from different vehicles or old identities cannot be learned/matched!

Finalization

  • Wait min. 60 seconds for the control module after-run to complete before you proceed.
  • Start the engine to verify the learning/matching process was successful.

Measuring Value Blocks (MVB)

A more detailed description will be displayed via the tool tips for each measuring value in VCDS while reading the live data.

Retreiving VIN & IMMO-ID

In order to retreive the PIN/SKC via official channels, the Immobilizer ID is required for each component for which a PIN/SKC needs to be requested. Due to slightly varying implementations, either step 2 or step 3 of the following table will work (choose whichever variant works in your specific case).

Video Tutorial

  1. Select applicable control module address for immobilizer master the vehicle you are working on.

  2. If the value is not 1, the current key cannot be adapted to this vehicle/immobilizer identity.

  3. Each field represents a lock time in minutes. If the lock times are NOT 0, do NOT switch off the ignition! Allow the car to sit for AT LEAST the number of minutes that were indicated by the fields 1-3.
